The Charity:

The Center for Autism Education is a non-profit organization that serves individuals with severe and challenging behaviors who have Autism or other developmental disabilities. The Center is a private school approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and serves students ages 6-21.

The Center contracts with local school districts in St. Louis, St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren and Franklin counties and implements each student's IEP (Individualized Education Plan) including all related services. We specialize in providing the supports necessary to teach some of the most challenging students in the area.

We provide education to students who have severe aggression, as well as property destruction and are typically described as some of the hardest kids to educate. Support is provided to teach these students the necessary skills to function in the home and community without exhibiting aberrant behaviors while making them employable and independent.

Social skills are emphasized and taught as they are needed to develop meaningful relationships with family and friends.

Our thanks go out to so many people for helping to make this event happen!  First, thank you to all of the great sponsors that we were proud to feature this year.  The first year of an event like this is always so very special, and we were honored to have so many special people to help us bring this idea to reality.  Second, a grand thanks to all of the volunteers that helped out during the day to make this event happen!  Without them, there simply wouldn't BE a fundraiser event and we appreciate you very much!  A great special note to the musicians, softball team and washer participants that made such a very special event!  Look for more details about next year's event here soon!

The Center for Autism Education was incredibly proud to welcome a tour by the Blue Ribbon Panel Committee on Autism, spearheaded by Senator Scott Rupp this week Wednesday.  We at the Center for Autism Education are honored to see the system in motion and are excited to see the program help us to improve efficiency in regard to the services we offer.  If you'd like to learn more about the "2007 Blue Ribbon Panel on Autism", please take a moment to read this document detailing the effort.

We've been fortune enough to secure the Home of the River Ciy Rascals T.R. Hughes Ballpark in O'Fallon, MO which truly is one of the premiere venues not only for great non-stop action baseball, but for events like ours.
